Eurybia radula, known as Low Rough Aster, is an herbaceous perennial in the Asteraceae family. It is native to eastern North America, including regions in Canada and the United States, and is also found on Saint Pierre and Miquelon. The plant thrives in wet soils across diverse habitats such as bogs, fens, creek shores, and ditches. It blooms in late summer to early fall with pale blue-violet flowers and yellow centers.

Description

Eurybia radula is distributed from Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada, west to Ontario, and south to Kentucky and Virginia in the U.S. It is also present in the French territory of Saint Pierre and Miquelon. While it is not considered threatened in most of its range, it is imperiled or possibly extirpated in parts of the U.S. The species is characterized by its rough, low-growing form and is adapted to moist environments. Its flowering period occurs in late summer to early fall, producing flower heads with pale blue-violet rays and yellow centers.
