Enterolobium barinense is a flowering tree in the Fabaceae family, found in Colombia and Venezuela. It was once considered endemic to Venezuela. It is distinguished from the similar E. cyclocarpum by its black, smoother pods and larger, more rounded leaflets.

Description

Enterolobium barinense, known as caro blanco or oreja de negro, is a tree species in the Fabaceae family. It was originally believed to be endemic to Venezuela, but has since been found in Colombia as well. The species is closely related to E. cyclocarpum, but can be distinguished by its black, smoother pods and larger, fewer, and more rounded leaflets. It was first described in 1983 by L.Cárdenas and H.Rodr.-Carr.
