Strelitzia alba, known as white-flowered wild banana, is a member of the Strelitziaceae family and is native to the Garden Route in the southernmost coastal regions of the Eastern Humansdorp and Western Cape districts in South Africa. It thrives in evergreen forests, gorges, and along river slopes.

Description

Strelitzia alba (L.f.) Skeels is a plant species in the Strelitziaceae family, commonly referred to as white-flowered wild banana. It is endemic to the Garden Route, specifically in the coastal areas of Humansdorp and Knysna in the Cape Provinces of South Africa. This species is found growing in evergreen forests, gorges, and on slopes adjacent to rivers. It was first described in 1912.
