Scybalium fungiforme is a parasitic plant in the family Balanophoraceae, native to Brazil. It was first described in 1832 by Heinrich Wilhelm Schott and Stephan Endlicher. In Brazil, it is known as Cogumelo-de-caboclo.

Description

Scybalium fungiforme is a member of the Balanophoraceae family and is found in the regions of Brazil Southeast, Brazil South, and Brazil West-Central. It is a parasitic species, relying on host plants for nutrients. The species was formally published in 1832 by Schott and Endlicher. Locally in Brazil, it is referred to by the common name Cogumelo-de-caboclo.
