Agathis macrophylla, known as Fijian Kauri Pine, is a coniferous tree native to the tropical lowlands and lower montane regions of Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Santa Cruz Islands. It is one of the largest and fastest-growing species in the genus Agathis and is significant in forestry.

Description

Agathis macrophylla (Lindl.) Mast. is a member of the Araucariaceae family and is commonly called Fijian Kauri Pine. It is found in the humid lowlands and lower montane areas of the southwestern Pacific, particularly in Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Santa Cruz Islands. This species is notable for its large size and rapid growth, making it an important tree in forestry applications. It was first described in 1892.
