Araucaria bidwillii, known as the bunya pine, is a large evergreen conifer in the family Araucariaceae. It is native to Australia, particularly southeast Queensland, with two small populations in northeast Queensland. It has been planted in various regions, including New South Wales, Perth, and globally. The tallest known individual is 51.5 m (169 ft) tall and is located in Bunya Mountains National Park.

Description

Araucaria bidwillii is a tall coniferous tree native to Australia. Its natural range is in southeast Queensland, with two small populations in the Wet Tropics of northeast Queensland. The species has been widely planted in areas such as the Atherton Tableland, New South Wales, and the Perth metropolitan area, as well as in other parts of the world. The tallest recorded specimen is in Bunya Mountains National Park, reaching a height of 51.5 m (169 ft), as reported in January 2003 by Robert Van Pelt.
