Daphnandra micrantha, known as socketwood or Manning River socketwood, is a rainforest tree in eastern Australia. It grows near streams in various types of rainforest, and is also seen in ecotone areas dominated by brush box and tallowwood. It is restricted to the Manning and Hastings River valleys of New South Wales.

Description

Daphnandra micrantha (Tul.) Benth. is a species in the family Atherospermataceae. It is native to eastern Australia, specifically found in New South Wales. This tree is commonly associated with rainforest environments, particularly in proximity to streams, and is also present in ecotone areas with brush box and tallowwood. Its distribution is limited to the Manning and Hastings River valleys. The species was first described in 1870.
