Daphnandra apatela, known as socketwood, light yellowwood, or canary socketwood, is a rainforest tree native to eastern Australia. It is commonly found in fertile alluvial and basaltic soils, ranging from the Watagan Mountains in New South Wales to Miriam Vale near Gladstone in Queensland.

Daphnandra apatela belongs to the genus Daphnandra in the family Atherospermataceae. It is a rainforest tree species that thrives in fertile soil types, particularly alluvial and basaltic soils. Its distribution spans across New South Wales and Queensland, with a range extending from the Watagan Mountains to Miriam Vale. The species was first described by Schodde in 2007.
