Cephalotaxus fortunei, known as Chinese plum-yew, is a coniferous shrub or small tree in the family Cephalotaxaceae. It is native to northern Burma and China and has been cultivated in western gardens since 1848.

Description

Cephalotaxus fortunei, commonly referred to as Chinese plum-yew, is a member of the Cephalotaxaceae family. Native to northern Burma and China, this species is also found in cultivated settings in regions such as Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, and other parts of the world. The species was first published in 1850 by Hooker. In China, it is known as san jian shan. It is often grown in gardens and has been part of horticultural collections since the mid-19th century.
