Tetrameranthus umbellatus is a tree species in the Annonaceae family, native to northern Brazil and Peru. It was described by Westra in 1985. The tree grows 8 to 25 meters tall with a trunk diameter of 15 to 25 cm. Young twigs and petioles are densely covered with short stellate hairs that become glabrous with age. Leaves are narrowly obovate or elliptic-obovate, 15 to 30 cm long, with an acute to acuminate apex. Inflorescences are umbel-like, with green flowers that turn yellow when mature.

Description

Tetrameranthus umbellatus is characterized by its narrowly obovate leaves, 15 to 30 cm long and 4 to 9 cm wide, with a chartaceous texture. The leaves are greenish brown above and pale greenish brown below when dry. The primary vein is flat to slightly impressed above, with secondary veins forming loops close to the margin. The inflorescences are up to five-flowered, with peduncles 5 to 25 mm long, densely covered with stellate hairs. Bracts are oblong, 4 to 5 mm long, and fall before flowering. Pedicels are 25 to 70 mm long and also covered with stellate hairs. Flowers are green and mature to yellow in color.
