Tetrameranthus duckei is a species in the Annonaceae family, native to regions including Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela. Described in 1939 by R.E.Fr., it is a shrub or small tree reaching 3-12 m in height. The plant is characterized by stellate hairs on young twigs, petioles, and primary veins, with leaves that are narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate and 10-25 cm long. Inflorescences are 1-2 flowered, with green flowers that turn yellow when open. The species is distinguished by its leaf morphology and hair distribution.

Description

Tetrameranthus duckei is a member of the Annonaceae family and is found in northern South America. It grows as a shrub or tree up to 12 m tall, with young twigs and petioles densely covered in brown stellate hairs. Leaves are narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, 10-25 cm long, with stellate hairs concentrated on primary and secondary veins. The base is acute, and the apex is acuminate with a 5-25 mm acumen. Inflorescences are 1-2 flowered, with peduncles and pedicels densely hairy. Flowers are green, turning yellow in vivo, with elliptic to obovate sepals 5-7 mm long. The species is distinguished by its leaf venation pattern and hair distribution on vegetative and floral structures.
