Tetracentron sinense is a flowering plant and the only living species in the genus Tetracentron. It was once classified as the sole species in the family Tetracentraceae, but is now placed in the family Trochodendraceae, along with the genus Trochodendron. This species is native to several regions in Asia, including parts of China, the East Himalaya, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet, and Vietnam.

Description

Tetracentron sinense, described by Oliv. in 1889, is a flowering plant belonging to the genus Tetracentron in the family Trochodendraceae. Previously, it was the only species in the family Tetracentraceae. It is distributed across North-Central and South-Central China, Southeast China, the East Himalaya, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet, and Vietnam. As the sole species in its genus, it represents a unique lineage within the Trochodendraceae family.
