Rhizanthella johnstonii, known as the south coast underground orchid, is a subterranean herb in the Orchidaceae family. It is endemic to the southwest of Western Australia and was first described in 2018 by K.W. Dixon and Christenh.
Description
This species features a horizontal rhizome and a head of up to sixty small white flowers, often with a pink tinge. The flowers are surrounded by large bracts that range in color from cream to pale pinkish cream. The plant is part of the Orchidaceae family and is found exclusively in Western Australia.
