Schneider's Zelkova

Zelkova schneideriana, known as Schneider's Zelkova, is a species in the Ulmaceae family. It is native to southeastern Tibet and central and southern China, often growing near streams. This deciduous tree can grow up to 35 m tall with a diameter at breast height of 80 cm. It is noted for its fast growth and attractive peeling bark. While resistant to honey fungus, it is occasionally affected by Dutch elm disease.
Description
Zelkova schneideriana is a member of the Ulmaceae family and is distributed in China's central, southern, and southeastern regions, as well as in Tibet. It is a deciduous tree that thrives in streamside habitats. The species is characterized by its rapid growth and distinctive exfoliating bark. Despite its resistance to honey fungus, it remains vulnerable to Dutch elm disease, though such occurrences are rare.
