Scadoxus pole-evansii, known as the Inyanga fireball, is a herbaceous plant native to the mountains of eastern Zimbabwe. Endemic to the region, it was first scientifically documented in 1960. This species resembles Scadoxus multiflorus and is grown as an ornamental plant.

Description

Scadoxus pole-evansii belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family and is found exclusively in the mountainous areas of east Zimbabwe. Discovered in 1960, it is closely related to Scadoxus multiflorus and is cultivated for its ornamental value. The species is part of the genus Scadoxus, which includes other flowering plants known for their showy blooms. It was formally described in 1976 by Friis and Nordal, with the original name attributed to Oberm.
