Description
Scadoxus cyrtanthiflorus, described in 1976 by Friis and Nordal, belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is native to Uganda and Zaïre, with a specific presence in the Rwenzori Mountains. Unlike most species in the genus Scadoxus, which typically have upright flowers, this species features pendant blooms. Its unusual floral orientation makes it a distinctive member of the genus. While not widely cultivated, it is sometimes grown in heated greenhouses as an ornamental plant.
