Raphidiocystis chrysocoma is a species in the Cucurbitaceae family, native to several countries in Africa including Angola, Burundi, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. It was first described in 1962 by C.Jeffrey, revising the original work by Schumach.

Description

Raphidiocystis chrysocoma (Schumach.) C.Jeffrey is a member of the Cucurbitaceae family, commonly known as the gourd family. It is distributed across various regions of sub-Saharan Africa, including Angola, Burundi, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. The species was formally published in 1962 by C.Jeffrey, who reclassified it from the original work by Schumacher. This species is part of the genus Raphidiocystis, which is characterized by specific morphological traits typical of the gourd family.
