Zantedeschia rehmannii, known as Pink Arum, is a member of the Araceae family. It is a herbaceous plant with glabrous stems reaching 24-80 cm in height. The leaves are deciduous, lanceolate, and dark green, with petioles up to 20 cm long. The inflorescence features a spathe 11-12 cm long, ranging in color from white to dark maroon, with a spadix that includes male and female zones. It produces infructescences with up to six seeds. The plant is found in rocky grassy hillsides, forest margins, and sandy runnels, often in semi-shade. It is recognized for its ornamental value and has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Description

Zantedeschia rehmannii is native to regions including Transvaal, Swaziland, KwaZulu-Natal, and Mozambique. It has a narrow funnel-shaped spathe with a recurved, tapering tip and a spadix that is typically half the length of the spathe. The plant thrives in semi-shade and is often found among rocks on grassy hillsides or in sandy runnels. Its inflorescence is notable for its color variation, ranging from white to dark maroon. The species was described in 1883 by Engl. and is valued for its ornamental appeal, having been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
