Osyris speciosa is a species in the genus Osyris, belonging to the family Santalaceae. It is native to the Cape Provinces and was formally described in 2000 by J.C. Manning and Goldblatt, based on earlier work by A.W. Hill.

Description

Osyris speciosa is a member of the Santalaceae, a family of flowering plants commonly known as the sandalwood family. This species is part of the genus Osyris, which is characterized by its often parasitic or hemiparasitic growth habit. The species is indigenous to the Cape Provinces of South Africa. It was first proposed by A.W. Hill and later formally published in 2000 by J.C. Manning and Goldblatt, who provided its current scientific name.
