Orites lancifolius

Orites lancifolius, commonly known as alpine orites, is a shrub in the family Proteaceae. It is endemic to south-eastern Australia and was first described in 1855 by Ferdinand von Mueller. The plant can grow prostrate or up to 2 metres in height, with leaves measuring 1 to 3 cm in length and 5 to 12 mm in width. White to pale yellow flowers appear between December and January.
Description
Orites lancifolius is native to the rocky summits of the Australian Alps and is found in New South Wales and Victoria. It is a spreading shrub that can reach up to 2 metres in height. The leaves are lance-shaped, 1 to 3 cm long, and 5 to 12 mm wide. The species produces white to pale yellow flowers during the austral summer, between December and January. First formally described in 1855 by Ferdinand von Mueller, the plant is part of the Proteaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly found in the southern hemisphere.
