Lewisia nevadensis, known as Nevada lewisia, is a flowering plant in the Montiaceae family. Native to the western United States, it thrives in moist mountain meadows. This small perennial herb grows from a taproot and caudex, forming a basal rosette of narrow, fleshy leaves up to 13 cm long. It produces short stems with flowers having 5 to 10 shiny white to pale pink petals, 1 to 2 cm long, and numerous stamens. The species is occasionally cultivated in alpine and rock gardens.

Description

Lewisia nevadensis is found in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. It is a perennial herb with a basal rosette of narrow, fleshy leaves and a short inflorescence bearing flowers with 5 to 10 petals. The petals are white to pale pink, and the flowers have many stamens. The plant is adapted to moist mountain habitats and is sometimes used in ornamental gardening due to its compact and attractive form.
