Myrica caroliniensis, described by Mill. in 1768, is a species in the genus Myrica within the family Myricaceae.

Description

Myrica caroliniensis is a member of the genus Myrica, which belongs to the plant family Myricaceae, commonly known as the wax myrtle family. This species was first formally described in 1768 by the botanist Philip Miller, who is cited as the authority for the name. The genus Myrica includes several species of shrubs and small trees, often characterized by aromatic leaves and waxy fruits. Myrica caroliniensis is native to the southeastern United States and is adapted to wetland and coastal habitats.
