Mesochaete undulata is a moss species native to Australia and Lord Howe Island, first described in 1870 by Sextus Otto Lindberg. It is typically found in moist habitats, growing on rocks or soil near streams. The plant can reach up to 5 cm in length, with unbranched stems that are red at the base and yellowish green above. Its leaves are large, spreading, and rounded to blunt at the tips, measuring between 1.8 mm and 4.5 mm in length.
