Description

Lithops naureeniae is a member of the Aizoaceae family and is found in the Cape Provinces, specifically in the Northern Cape of South Africa. The plant was described by D.T. Cole in 1980, based on a specimen collected by Peter V. Bruyns in Namaqualand and provided to Cole by Bruce Bayer. The species was named in honor of Cole's wife, Naureen, who significantly contributed to the study of Lithops over fifteen years. Cole dedicated the species to her for her direct and indirect support of research on the genus. The plant is adapted to the arid desert environment of its native range.
