Lithops dorotheae is a species of the genus Lithops in the family Aizoaceae, native to South Africa. It was named in honor of Dorothea Huyssteen, who discovered it in 1935. The species was formally described and published in 1939 by Nel.
Description
Lithops dorotheae is found growing on fine-grained sheared quartz and feldspar rock, particularly in areas with feldspathic quartzite. As a member of the Aizoaceae family, it is adapted to arid environments and exhibits the characteristic stone-like appearance typical of the Lithops genus.
