Cibotium menziesii, commonly known as hapu'u li or hāpuʻu ʻiʻi, is a species of tree fern native to the Hawaiian Islands. It is part of the Cibotiaceae family and was first described in 1844 by Hook. The plant is named after the Scottish naturalist Archibald Menzies.

Description

Cibotium menziesii is a tree fern species endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. It is distinguished from Cibotium glaucum, which is referred to as the female tree fern, while Cibotium menziesii is sometimes called the male tree fern due to coloration differences. The species belongs to the genus Cibotium and the family Cibotiaceae. It is one of the native ferns that contribute to the unique flora of Hawaii.
