Description
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, also called Ginger Pine, is a species of conifer in the genus Chamaecyparis, family Cupressaceae. It is native to Oregon and northwestern California, where it grows in the valleys of the Klamath Mountains, typically along streams, from sea level up to 1,500 metres. The species was first described in 1864 and has since been introduced to various regions, including Açores, TR, HR, IE, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Great Britain, IT, NO, PT, DK, Austria, Denmark, and Finland. Its common name in English is Ginger Pine, and it is also known as Port Orford cedar.
