Cynara algarbiensis is a flowering plant species in the genus Cynara, part of the family Asteraceae. It is native to the Iberian Peninsula, specifically found in Southern Portugal and Southwest Spain.

Description

Cynara algarbiensis, described in 1893 by Coss. ex Mariz, is a member of the artichoke genus Cynara. This species is endemic to the Iberian Peninsula, with its distribution limited to Portugal Continental and parts of Spain. It belongs to the family Asteraceae, a large and diverse group of flowering plants commonly known as the daisy or sunflower family.
