Cibotium cumingii is a tree fern species in the genus Cibotium, named after 19th-century collector Hugh Cuming. It is characterized by reddish hairs on its apex and young fronds. It grows in open forests and hilly areas in Borneo and the Philippines. Some sources consider it the same species as Cibotium taiwanense, which would extend its range to Taiwan.

Description

Cibotium cumingii belongs to the family Cibotiaceae and was described by Kunze in 1841. It is native to Borneo and the Philippines, where it is found in open forest and hilly habitats. The species is distinguished by its reddish hairy apex and young fronds. Taxonomic classification may include Cibotium taiwanense as a synonym, potentially expanding its distribution to include Taiwan.
