Crinodendron hookerianum, described by Gay in 1846, is a member of the Elaeocarpaceae family. It is known as the Chilean Lantern Tree and is native to central and southern Chile. This evergreen tree is found in Valdivian temperate forests, typically in moist and shaded environments.

Description

Crinodendron hookerianum is an evergreen tree in the Elaeocarpaceae family, native to central and southern Chile. It is commonly known as the Chilean Lantern Tree and is found in the region from Cautín to Palena. The species thrives in humid and shaded habitats, particularly near streams and in Valdivian temperate forests. It was first described in 1846 by the botanist Gay.
