Azolla caroliniana is a species of the Azolla genus in the family Salviniaceae. It is native to the Americas and has a wide distribution, including regions in eastern North America, the Caribbean, and parts of Central and South America. It was first described in 1810.

Description

Azolla caroliniana, known as Carolina azolla, is a member of the genus Azolla in the family Salviniaceae. It is native to the Americas and is found in eastern North America, the Caribbean, and extends south to northern Argentina and Uruguay. The species is also present in parts of Europe, Asia, and North America outside its native range. Its distribution includes British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and other regions. It is commonly referred to as Carolina azolla in English.
