Campanulorchis globifera
Campanulorchis globifera (Rolfe) Brieger

Campanulorchis globifera is an epiphytic orchid species in the Orchidaceae family, found in BR, Thailand, and Vietnam. It grows in evergreen forests on silicate rocks at elevations of 600–1800 m, flowering from October to April. The species was recorded in Cambodia's Cardamom Mountains in 2011, extending its known range southwest by over 500 km.
Description
Campanulorchis globifera is a creeping epiphyte with lanceolate to narrowly elliptic leaves, 7–16 cm long. Its peduncle is densely white tomentose, bearing one or two white flowers with purple side-lobes and a yellow epichile. Sepals and petals are narrowly ovate to ovate, while the lip is 3-lobed with a spongy-like margin on the median lobe. The column is 4 mm long, and the fruit is erect, obconoid, and hairy. The species is associated with humid, montane to lowland forests influenced by wet monsoon winds. Its discovery in Cambodia's Cardamom Mountains suggests an isolated population with ecological conditions similar to the Central Highlands, but it is absent from the dry lowland forests of southern Indochina.
