Anubias heterophylla, described by Adolf Engler in 1879, is a species in the Araceae family. It is native to the Afrotropical region, including Angola, Cameroon, Congo, and other nearby countries. This plant typically grows on rocky areas along watercourses and in shaded forest habitats.

Description

Anubias heterophylla features a creeping, prostrate rhizome that roots along its length. The leaves have petioles 3-66 cm long and blades 10-38 cm long, with elliptic-ovate or lanceolate shapes and prominent lateral nerves. The inflorescence includes a slender peduncle and a spathe 1.5-4.5 cm long, with a cylindrical spadix. It is commonly found in rocky, moist environments, often along watercourses or in shaded forest areas.
