Tsuga mertensiana (Bong.) Carrière, known as alpine hemlock, is a species in the genus Tsuga of the family Pinaceae. It is native to the west coast of North America, ranging from Southcentral Alaska to south-central California. The species was published in 1867.

Description

Tsuga mertensiana is a coniferous tree species found in British Columbia, Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. It is also reported in DK, Denmark, Sweden, SE, IS, and NO. This species is commonly referred to as alpine hemlock and is part of the pine family (Pinaceae).
