Eucryphia moorei is a tree species in the family Cunoniaceae, native to southeastern New South Wales and the Howe Range in Victoria. It is known by the common names pinkwood, plumwood, and eastern leatherwood. This species is a dominant component of cool-temperate rainforests in southeastern New South Wales. Young plants frequently develop as hemiepiphytes.

Description

Eucryphia moorei, described by F.Muell. in 1863, is a tree native to the southeastern regions of Australia. It is found in New South Wales and extends into Victoria. The species is a key tree in the cool-temperate rainforest ecosystems of the area. Commonly called pinkwood, plumwood, or eastern leatherwood, it is also referred to as acacia-plum. Juvenile plants often begin life as hemiepiphytes before establishing themselves independently.
