药西瓜

Citrullus colocynthis (L.) Schrad. 是一種原產於地中海盆地及西亞的有毒沙漠藤本植物，屬於葫蘆科（Cucurbitaceae）。其在台灣的常用名為藥西瓜，英文則稱為bitter apple。此種分佈範圍廣泛，包括加拿大、美國、西班牙、義大利、希臘、土耳其、阿富汗、阿爾及利亞等地。
Description
Citrullus colocynthis 是一種有毒的野生植物，其果實和種子具有毒性。該種最早於 1838 年發表。學名的命名歷史上曾有誤將 LINN 收藏品視為模式標本的情況，但實際上該標本並非 Linnaeus 原始描述所依據的材料。此種植物在傳統醫學中偶有應用，但因其毒性需謹慎使用。
