Loài này có phạm vi phân bố rộng ở nhiều tỉnh bang Canada như Labrador, Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec và Saskatchewan. Ngoài ra, nó cũng được ghi nhận tại một số quốc gia châu Âu. Loài này được xuất bản lần đầu vào năm 1803.
