Loài này phân bố ở các khu vực như Argentina miền Đông Bắc, Bolivia, Brazil miền Đông Nam, Brazil miền Nam, Brazil miền Trung-Tây, và Paraguay. Loài này có nguồn gốc từ các mẫu vật thu thập của Sellow, được xác định là loại mẫu (lectotype) sau khi được phân tích chi tiết.
Description
Aspidosperma australe thuộc họ Apocynaceae, được công bố năm 1860 bởi Müller-Argoviensis. Mẫu vật tiêu biểu được chọn từ bộ sưu tập Sellow B 1645 - c 77?, hiện được lưu trữ tại BR (mã vạch 0000005783724). Theo các nghiên cứu về Friedrich Sellow, mẫu vật được thu thập vào khoảng năm 1818–1820. Loài này phân bố ở các khu vực như Argentina miền Đông Bắc, Bolivia, Brazil miền Đông Nam, Brazil miền Nam, Brazil miền Trung-Tây, và Paraguay. Việc xác định mẫu vật tiêu biểu dựa trên các quy định của ICN (Turland et al., 2018).
