Loài này có nguồn gốc từ Trung Quốc, Nhật Bản, Hàn Quốc, vùng Viễn Đông Nga và quần đảo Aleut (thuộc Hoa Kỳ). Artemisia stelleriana thường được trồng làm cây cảnh và đã tự nhiên hóa tại nhiều nơi ở Bắc Mỹ, đặc biệt là các khu vực cát ven biển, cũng như tại Scandinavia.

Artemisia stelleriana, còn gọi là Beach Wormwood, là một loài thực vật thuộc họ Cúc (Asteraceae), được mô tả khoa học bởi Besser vào năm 1834. Loài này có mặt tại nhiều quốc gia như Newfoundland, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saint Pierre và Miquelon, FI, IE, GB, NO, DK, SE, Vermont-US, CA, Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware... Các tên gọi phổ biến khác bao gồm hoary mugwort, Dusty Miller, và oldwoman. Loài này thường mọc ở các bãi cát ven biển và các khu vực cát khác.
