Polemonium reptans อยู่ในวงศ์ Polemoniaceae พบกระจายพันธุ์ในหลายรัฐของสหรัฐอเมริกา เช่น เวอร์มอนต์ แคลิฟอร์เนีย อัลเบอร์มา แอร์คันซัส คอนเนตทิคัต เดลาแวร์ ดิสตริกต์ออฟโคลัมเบีย จอร์เจีย อิลลินอยส์ อินเดียนาไอโอวา แคนซัส เคนตักกี้ เมรีแลนด์ มาร์แชลล์ ไมแคนซัส มินนิโซตา มิสซิสซิปปี และอื่น ๆ ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์นี้ตีพิมพ์ครั้งแรกในปี ค.ศ. 1759 โดย Linnaeus
