Description
Melocactus intortus เป็นต้นกระบองเพชรที่มีลักษณะเฉพาะตัวในพื้นที่แคริบเบียน มีการกระจายพันธุ์ในบริเวณต่างๆ เช่น ประเทศบราซิล หมู่เกาะบาฮามาส หมู่เกาะเลeward ปวยร์โตริโก หมู่เกาะเทอร์กส์-คาโยส และหมู่เกาะวินด์เวิร์ด ต้นกระบองเพชรชนิดนี้ถูกตีพิมพ์ทางวิทยาศาสตร์เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1919
