Widdringtonia whytei
Widdringtonia whytei Rendle
Widdringtonia whytei, the Mulanje cedar or Mulanje cypress, is a conifer species found only in Malawi, specifically on the Mulanje Massif at elevations between 1,830 and 2,550 meters. It was first described by Rendle in 1894. This species is currently endangered due to excessive logging for its wood and an increase in wildfires caused by human activities.

Widdringtonia whytei는 1894년에 Rendle가 기술한 Cupressaceae(사자목) 속의 고사리나무입니다. 이 종은 말라위의 Mulanje Massif 지역에서만 서식하며, 해발 1,830~2,550m 사이에서 자랍니다. Mulanje cedar 또는 Mulanje cypress로 알려진 이 나무는 목재 수확 과다와 인간 활동으로 인한 산불 증가로 인해 멸종 위기 상태에 있습니다.
