Pinus wallichiana는 핀나이아과(Pinaceae)에 속하는 상록 침엽수로, 동아프가니스탄에서 중국 서남부의 운난까지 퍼져 있습니다. 이 나무는 높이가 30~50미터에 달하며, 산 계곡에서 잘 자라납니다. 온대 기후를 선호하며, 겨울은 건조하고 여름은 습합니다. 이 종은 1938년에 A.B.Jacks.에 의해 발표되었습니다.
