Laccosperma secundiflorum는 아프리카 서부 열대림에 분포하는 회오리바늘(다닥나무)의 일종이다. 가오(Gao)라고도 불리며, 가시가 있는 줄기를 이용해 주변 나무에 감아 30미터 이상 자랄 수 있다. 주로 가정에서 기름, 포도주, 가구 및 바구니 재료로 사용된다.
Description
Laccosperma secundiflorum (P.Beauv.) Kuntze는 Arecaceae(나무대나무과)에 속하는 종으로, 카메룬의 둥가-상가 열대림을 포함한 서아프리카 지역에서 자란다. 이 종은 가시가 있는 줄기를 통해 다른 나무에 감아 높이를 빠르게 증가시킨다. 현지 주민들은 이 나무를 기름, 포도주, 가구, 바구니, 매트 등 다양한 용도로 사용한다. 이 종은 1891년에 발표되었으며, 베냉, 중앙아프리카 공화국, 콩고, 이비코트, 리베리아, 니제르, 세네갈, 시에라리온, 토고 등지에서도 발견된다.
