Gratiola neglecta는 Plantaginaceae 과에 속하는 미국 헤지히스롭라고 알려진 일년생 식물이다. 북미의 대부분 지역에서 자라며 습지나 물이 많은 곳에 분포한다. 식물은 약 30cm 높이의 수지가 있는 줄기를 가진다.
Description
Gratiola neglecta는 줄기 높이가 약 30cm에 이르며, 난형에서 타원형의 잎이 줄기 양쪽에 대생한다. 잎 길이는 최대 5cm이며, 가장자리가 때때로 톱니 모양이다. 꽃은 약 1cm 길이의 희끄무레한 실린더형 관상 꽃으로서, 꽃받침은 5개의 날카로운 돌기로 구성된다. 열매는 약 반센티미터 크기의 구형 캡슐이다.
