Dendrocalamus giganteus, commonly known as giant bamboo, is a large, dense-clumping bamboo species native to Southeast Asia. It is among the largest bamboo species in the world and is found in tropical and subtropical regions.

Description

Dendrocalamus giganteus is a member of the grass family (Poaceae) and is native to various regions including South-Central China, India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Malaya, and other parts of Southeast Asia. First described by Munro in 1868, this bamboo species is known for its towering height and robust growth. It forms dense clumps and is widely distributed across tropical and subtropical climates.
