Asphodelus aestivus, the summer asphodel, is a Western Mediterranean geophyte with a short vertical rhizome and basal leaves. It has actinomorphic, pinkish-white flowers with six perianth segments and six stamens. It is found in dry grasslands, phrygana, and on rocky or sandy ground in Portugal and Spain.

Description

Asphodelus aestivus는 Asphodelaceae 과에 속하는 식물로, 짧은 수직 뿌리 줄기와 기부에 위치한 잎을 가진 서지중해 지역의 지오파이트이다. 꽃은 방사대칭 구조로, 분홍빛 흰색이며, 6개의 꽃받침 조각과 14~19mm 길이의 6개 수술을 두 층으로 가지고 있다. 이 종은 주로 포르투갈과 스페인의 건조한 풀밭, 프리가나, 돌밭 또는 모래지형에서 자라며, 서지중해 지역에 분포한다. Asphodelus ramosus와 유사한 외형으로 인해 명명법과 분류학적 혼동이 많았다. 1804년 Brot.에 의해 발표되었다.
