It is found in rocky desert and plateau habitats across Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. The plant has a thin, branching stem up to 15 cm long and is generally hairless, though it may have glands. It has a few linear leaves up to 3 cm long. The inflorescence typically has one pair of yellow flowers, each under 1 cm in diameter. The species was published in 2000.
