Vepris bremekampii (I.Verd.) Mziray is a Rutaceae species native to southern Mozambique and northern South Africa. Commonly known as Wild Mandarin, it is an evergreen shrub or small tree growing up to 6 m tall. Its fruit is 1.4 cm in size, wrinkled, and warty, resembling Citrus.
Description
Vepris bremekampii belongs to the Rutaceae family and is found in the regions of KwaZulu-Natal, Mozambique, and Northern Provinces. It was first described in 1992. The plant is characterized by its small, citrus-like fruit, which has a warty and wrinkled surface. It is also known as Wart-berry in some regions. This species is a part of the Vepris genus and is distributed globally, though primarily in southern Africa.
