Hypoxis nivea is a species in the genus Hypoxis, belonging to the family Hypoxidaceae. It is commonly known as white star-flower and was described by Y.Singh in 2007. The species is native to the Cape Provinces and KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.

Description

Hypoxis nivea is a member of the Hypoxidaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly referred to as star-grasses or yellow stars. This species is part of the genus Hypoxis, which is characterized by corms and star-shaped flowers. It is known by the common name white star-flower and was first published in 2007 by Y.Singh. The plant is naturally distributed in the Cape Provinces and the KwaZulu-Natal region of South Africa.
